Kim Atienza Reacts To Bongbong Marcos Request To Pray For Him

Kim Atienza shared his thoughts on this statement of the incoming president

Seasoned TV host Kim Atienza reacted to the request of President-elect Bongbong Marcos to pray for him.

After Marcos’s proclamation as the 17th President of the Republic of the Philippines, he made a statement about his duties. In a report from GMA News, the incoming Chief Executive asked the Filipino people to pray for him.

“So, I ask you all, pray for me, wish me well. I want to do well for this country because when the president does well, the country does well,” Bongbong Marcos said. Kim Atienza retweeted this statement of the incoming president. The TV host shared a Bible verse that is fit for the said statement of BBM.

1 Timothy 2:1-2 – I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—  for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness,” Kuya Kim wrote.

This reaction of the seasoned TV host garnered polarizing reactions from netizens. There were those who said that they agreed with what Kuya Kim has shared but of course, there were also those who slammed him, especially those who are against Marcos Jr.

Following this, the seasoned TV host shared a news article about how he reacted to the plea of the President-elect. Kuya Kim said, “Just doing what my Lord wants me to do,” he said.

He added that even though there are people who might disagree with him but he believes that he is being told to pray and honor those who are in power.

“The presidency is God ordained. If he succeeds, the country succeeds. If he fails, we all fail,” Kim Atienza stressed.
