End of Term of Pres. Duterte Draws Near

DUTERTE – President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is almost done packing his things in Malacañang as the end of his term draws near.

The current administration is in the last weeks of its term. At noontime of June 30, the country will have its new president and vice president. The incoming administration is now preparing its set of Cabinet members and appointees in the different departments.

Several weeks prior to the Elections 2022, the 77-year-old Chief Executive confirmed that he has started packing his things as he is getting ready to leave Malacañang. According to him, the heavy ones were packed and shipped first back to his hometown, Davao City.

Prior to an attempted run for vice president and senator in the Elections 2022, the President expressed that he will retire from politics after his term will end. He wants to go home to Davao City.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, before the term of Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte ends, a Legacy Summit of his administration was held. Different departments of the government delivered speeches and presented their accomplishments in the last six (6) years.

According to the report, Pres. Duterte is almost done packing his things in Malacañang and is ready to go home to Davao City. The team of the Palace and the team of the incoming administration have started talking to ensure a smooth transition of leadership.

While the term of the 77-year-old Chief Executive is set to end, the term of presidential daughter and outgoing Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio as the country’s vice president is set to begin. She won the vice presidential race with a huge gap from her closest rival.

The outgoing President has not campaigned for a presidential candidate but he endorsed his daughter for the vice president saying that she is really hardworking and she knows how to deal with people. Aside from being the country’s vice president, she will head the Department of Education.
