Vice Pres. Leni Robredo Greets Late Husband Jesse Robredo
LENI ROBREDO – The Vice President paid a heartfelt tribute to her late husband, former Interior Sec. Jesse Robredo, on his 64th birthday.
After several months of campaign for the Elections 2022, Vice Pres. Robredo is currently in New York. She and her daughters flew abroad a few days after the election day for the graduation of her youngest daughter, Jillian, who is a scholar at New York University.
The Vice President has three (3) daughters with her late husband, former Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jesse Robredo. Their daughters are Jessica Marie “Aika”, Janine Patricia “Doc Tricia”, and Jillian Therese.
In 2012, then-Interior Sec. Jesse Robredo died in a plane crash. He was supposedly off to Naga in the pursuit to catch up for the event of her youngest daughter when his plane crashed off Masbate City.
The death of the former Interior Secretary who has also served as mayor of Naga City for several years sparked the call for his wife to take her public service to a much higher level. Vice Pres. Robredo is a lawyer who used to work with people in the margins. She won a seat in the House of Representatives before she became the country’s Vice President in the 2016 Elections.
Recently, the late former Interior Sec. Jesse Robredo could have celebrated his 64th birthday. Vice Pres. Leni Robredo took to social media a heartfelt commemoration and tribute to her late husband.
On her Facebook account, Vice Pres. Leni Robredo described late former Interior Sec. Jesse Robredo as “a great husband and father whose extraordinariness was in his ordinariness”. She stressed that her late husband’s life was short but purposeful and they are striving for it everyday. She invited her followers to join them in a holy mass.
