Charlie Dizon shared her favorite K-Drama series
Charlie rose to fame when she starred in the Metro Manila Film Festival movie Fan Girl opposite Kapamilya actor Paulo Avelino. Her first movie also gave the first Best Actress award for her.
From that, the Kapamilya network is generous enough to give her major acting projects in teleseryes. In a recent interview by The Philippine Star, Charlie Dizon was about the South Korean drama series that she would like to remake.
“‘Full House!’ Super classic,” the Kapamilya actress said. The said series featured Song Hye-kyo and her rumored ex-boyfriend, K-pop superstar Rain. It aired in 2004 and instantly became a big hit in the Philippines when it was dubbed in Tagalog. In 2009, GMA-7 did a remake of this that featured Heart Evangelista and Richard Gutierrez.
Aside from Full House, Charlie highly recommend these three K-drama series – “What’s wrong with Secretary Kim,” “It’s Okay Not to Be Okay,” and “39.”
‘39′, kakatapos ko lang panoorin. It is about life, ‘di sya cutie-cutie. Life ng about (being) 39 (years old). Stable na sila, ano pa inaantay nila, what’s more?” the actress shared. She also said that she wants to do romantic-comedy series for her future project. “Gusto ko gumawa rin ng rom-com, may lalim ‘yung story pero light,” she said.
Charlie Dizon is not new to the culture of entertainment industry of South Korea. It is because she trained in the past to debut as a K-pop idol but unfortunately, this stint did not push through. Nevertheless, her star is shining now in her home country.
