The commotion during a basketball game in Leon, Iloilo has been caught on camera and elicits comments from the netizens.

The basketball game between barangays; Capt. Fernando and Mocol, which has been held in Barangay Gumboc in the town of Leon. The players and several audiences have been involved in a fistfight.

The event eventually resulted in a heated confrontation between the two teams. The players and supporters joined the rumble, which leads to a chaotic scene, according to Leon Police Station chief Police Lieutenant Melchor Tolentino.

“Nang patapos na ang baketball league ang biktima na si Bryan Jose Canapang ay kinompronta si Ronnie Calaor (suspek), at doon nangyari ang hindi pagkakaintindhan nila,” Tolentino said.

The victim reportedly punched the suspect and accidentally dropped his knife. The suspect picked up the knife and stabbed the victim in the chest. The victim suffered multiple wounds and injuries due to the incident.

“Base sa ating imbestigasyon, ang pinagmulan ng rambol ay ang basketball. Ang laro sa dalawang team na Brgy, Kapitan Fernando at Brgy. Mocol wherein residente ang dalawa,” Tolentino added.

The victim has been rushed to the hospital for immediate medical treatment and is on his way to recovery. The police authorities arrest the suspect who will face charges of frustrated homicide.

However, the suspect has been temporarily released after paying bail. The cops were also trying to identify the individuals who were involved in the commotion.
