PAGASA Says Southwest Monsoon to Affect PH Weather Condition
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the southwest monsoon will bring scattered rain showers over some parts of the country.
On Monday (May 23, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The southwest monsoon will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA reported that the Southwest Monsoon will be affecting the western section of Luzon. It will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms will be experienced over Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, Occidental Mindoro and Oriental Mindoro.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms are expected over Bicol Region, Marinduque, Romblon and Northern Samar.
The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather condition over the provinces of Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Apayao, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Ifugao and Benguet as well as entire Visayas, Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
The weather agency has also advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over western section and extreme Northern Luzon will be moderate. The remaining parts of the archipelago will have a slight to moderate surrounding sea condition.
