Motorcycle Rider Trying to Avoid Manhole Dies After Hit by Truck in Quezon City
A motorcycle rider has passed away after he was accidentally hit by a truck while trying to avoid a manhole in Quezon City.
Nowadays, road accident has been one of the most common traffic problems not only in the Philippines but also in different countries all around the world. It usually causes injuries and even death to the victims.
The Philippine government is already implementing stricter rules and regulations to prevent such incidents. Unfortunately, accidents still happen due to reckless motorists and road damages.
A motorcycle rider driving along Payatas, Quezon City gets into a tragic accident while trying to avoid a manhole in the area. The poor motorist slipped and ended up pummeling on the ground.
The rider tried to stand up after the incident but an oncoming dump truck filled with sand failed to press the brakes on time. The motorist passed away after he was accidentally rammed by the truck.
The truck driver has been arrested and will face charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
According to the residents, the numerous holes along the road have caused accidents among motorists passing in the area. The area has no street lights, which makes it harder and more dangerous for the motorists.
“Gumewang po tapos pag gewang po tumumba, pag tumba siguro hindi napansin ng trak nagulungan ho siya,” according to a resident.
Another citizen also urged the DPWH to fix and repair the damaged road in the area to prevent accidents.
