Is it true that Darryl Yap was offered to be the head of FDCP?
GMA screenwriter Suzette Doctolero revealed that director-writer Darryl Yap was offered a position in the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) but he declined.
Darryl’s popularity was even boosted this election season through his viral satire videos. He is the brain behind the controversial videos with political content on Vincentiments social media sites.
It is known to many that he has become close to the Marcos family and he is one of the personalities in the entertainment industry who supported the tandem of incoming President Bongbong Marcos and incoming Vice President Sara Duterte.
After the election, Suzette Doctolero revealed that a position in the FDCP was offered to Darryl Yap. The council is a national film agency that is directly under the Office of the President, based on the article in the Inquirer.
Suzette revealed this after Darryl’s name became a trending topic on Twitter. In her May 16 Facebook post, the Kapuso wrtier said, “Bakit trending si Darryl Yap? E ano kung maging FDCP head siya? Ayaw niyo rin naman kay Liza nung simula kasi the who, pero later on ang dami nang chumika doon sa babae.”
Suzette was referring to current FDCP chairman Liza Diño. Then, the screenwriter said that Darryl refused the offer anticipating the negative reactions that this would garner.
“Chaka mang sabihin pero kung sinong nanalo, sila ang makakakuha ng posisyon. Pero ang alam ko ay tinanggihan ni Darryl ang alok. To be fair, alam naman nung bata na maraming aatakehin sa puso kaya umayaw na siya [because] he cares, you know,” Suzette Doctolero said.
Then, the Kapuso writer said that the public should stop bashing Darryl Yap as he might change his mind and she can’t blame him if this happens. The controversial director commented on this post of Suzette. “Hindi ako makapalag,” he said.
