Bishop Socrates Villegas Posts Encouraging Message for those Who Feel Down

Bishop Socrates Villegas took to social media an encouraging message for those who are feeling down.

The Elections 2022 which include the poll for the next president of the Republic of the Philippines is over. Millions of people went out to vote. Ten candidates ran for the presidency. An automated election was held last May 9 and partial and unofficial results were instantly made available a few minutes after most of the voting precincts closed.

One of the presidential candidates is Vice Pres. Leni Robredo whose campaign rallies gathered thousands of people. Her supporters are looking forward to an honest government and one that reaches out to everyone under her leadership. “Kulay Rosas ang Bukas” and “Gobernong Tapat, Angat Buhay Lahat” sparked hope inside every support. There was overwhelming support for her presidential bid and the spirit of volunteerism was really evident.

However, in the partial and unofficial results, Vice Pres. Leni Robredo is lagging behind the presidential race’s frontrunner with a huge gap. Millions of supporters of the Vice President are visibly dismayed.

Bishop Socrates Villegas expressed that the people are used to losing. He recalled that Jesus Christ looked defeated when He was crucified in the Cross and His followers were moved and left in a difficult situation. They had different ways of coping – others hid while there are those who looked for ways to take their minds off what happened.

The Bishop encourages everyone who feels down to feel it and not hold back the tears as there is more learning in defeat than in success. Amid the encouragement not to cover up your feelings, he recalled Jesus Christ’s message not to stay in the dark and not to give up.

“Talo? Lupaypay? Pagod? Bumalik tayo sa KINABUKASAN! May kulay rosas na kinabukasan na pumukaw sa atin! Huwag nating ipanakaw kahit kaninong mandarambong ang pangarap na umantig sa atin,” he wrote.

According to Bishop Socrates Villegas, there was a piece of the future felt and he believes nothing was wasted. Here’s his Facebook post:
