Toni Gonzaga - Here's Real Reason Why She's Out Of ‘Asian Persuasion’

This is the real reason why Toni Gonzaga was dropped out from a Hollywood film.

TONI GONZAGA – Television host and actress Toni Gonzaga is supposed to be a part of ‘Asian Persuasion’ but here’s the reason why she’s now out of the project.

‘Asian Persuasion’ is the directorial debut of Jhett Tolentino – a three-time Tony Award and Grammy-winning producer. Last April, it has already started its production and is actually set for an early 2023 premiere and release. The film is a romantic comedy set in New York.

Toni Gonzaga is supposed to play an important role but stepped out of the project later on. KC Concepcion filled the role she left. She will be working along with other stars like Paolo Montalban (“Cinderella”), Scarlett Sher (“The Hustler”), Kevin Kreider (“The Bling Empire), and many others.

Basco said about his and Concepcion’s role, “It’s about a couple, me and KC, that split up. We have a kid and kind of figuring our life afterward and I have a whole plan of trying to get her married off, so Mickey, my character, can get away from his financial kind of problems there.”

Tolentino said that a couple of weeks before their pre-prod, Gonzaga informed him that she is no longer participating in the film. He panicked a little. And he also admitted that Gonzaga is really the first choice for the film.

He clarified that her decision to back out has nothing to do with her political affiliation. Truth is, there was a conflict the reason why backed out.

“Yung sa akin lang, once you commit tapusin, and then so yun, I started the petition. I paid for her work visa. Nagbayad na kami, and then yun, they gave a notice na hindi siya… conflict of schedule,” he expressed based on ABS-CBN report.
