Jaime O. Sancon, Former Vice Mayor of Victoria, Laguna Turns Into Gravedigger After Wealth Runs Out

Former Vice Mayor of Victoria, Laguna Jaime O. Sancon with wealth and riches a few decades ago has turned into sepulturero.

Jaime O. Sancon is a former businessman with a rice mill, poultry business, and gasoline stations a few decades ago. A lot of people in the town pushed him to enter politics because of their social status.

Sancon has been elected as the vice mayor of Victoria, Laguna way back in 1992. Since then, poor and less-fortunate residents were asking him for financial assistance. He did not hesitate to help other people without expecting anything in return.

The former politician said that he embraced the responsibility and power bestowed on him. He is also happy to help other people. However, the table has been turned and his wealth run out.

Currently, the former mayor has been working as gravedigger and revealed that he has a reason behind it.

“May sarili kaming mga negosyo noon. May rice mill, itikan at gasolinahan kami.

Dahil nga nakakaluwag kami noon, ‘yung mga tao, kinumbinsi akong pumasok sa pulitika.

Nanalo akong Vice Mayor ng Victoria noong 1992.

Binibisita ako ng mga taong walang-wala.

Kapag nakakatulong ako sa kanila, ang ganda sa pakiramdam.

‘Yun bang alam mo na may natutulungan ka at wala kang inaapakan o sinaksaktan ang damdamin.

Pero dati na ‘yun.

Ngayon, walang-wala na ako at nagtatrabaho na ako sa sementeryo.

Nu’ng inalok sa akin ‘yung trabaho na ‘yun ng munisipyo, buo ‘yung loob ko nu’ng tinanggap ko.

May malalim kasing dahilan kung bakit ko pinili ‘yung pagse-sepulturero.”
