WIN GATCHALIAN’S PLATFORMS – Here are the accomplishments of Senator Win Gatchalian and the things he promises to do if he gets elected again as Senator in the May 2022 Elections.

Senator Sherwin T. Gatchalian, popularly known as Win Gatchalian started his political career when he won as Valenzuela City’s first district representative in 2001. Three years after that, he became the Mayor of Valenzuela. From local government positions, he started his journey in national politics in 2016 when he decided to run for Senator.

PERSONAL BACKGROUND

Win Gatchalian studied Bachelor of Science Major in Finance and Operations Management at the Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts. His family owns and runs the Wellex Group. Before entering the political arena, he was the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of The Wellex Group from 1996 to 2001. He also served as the Vice-Chairman and Director of Air Philippines Corporation from 1998 to 1999. Gatchalian was also the Vice Chairman of Waterfront Philippines, Inc., one of the top Filipino-owned hotel chains from 1999 to 2001.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

When he was serving as a congressman, Gatchalian authored at least 12 laws related to the energy industry and education and he principally authored the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration Act. Gatchalian authored the ​​Philippine Energy Research and Policy Institute Act, the Alternative Learning System Act, the Microgrid Systems Act and the Energy Virtual One-Stop Shop Act as a senator. One of the laws he principally sponsored was the Murang Kuryente Act.

In 2008, Win Gatchalian was recognized as the Best Mayor in CAMANAVA (Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas and Valenzuela). This was given by the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) because of the enormous logistic and financial support that he gave to Valenzuela City Police’s programs.

He was recognized by the Philippine Red Cross for all exemplary leadership and outstanding accomplishments that have contributed to the promotion of the humanitarian organization’s mission. Gatchalian received the Silver Humanitarian Service Cross Award in 2014. In 2019, he received the International Peace Laureate for Public Service from the Sino-Phil Asia International Peace Awards Foundation, Inc.
