HARRY ROQUE PLATFORMS – Here are the accomplishments of Harry Roque and the things he promises to do if he gets elected as Senator in the May 2022 Elections.

Herminio “Harry” Lopez Roque Jr. is a lawyer and former law professor. He recently served as the spokesman for President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

The 55-year-old politician is now running for the Senate under the slate of the UniTeam tandem of Bongbong Marcos and Sara Duterte.

PERSONAL BACKGROUND

Harry Roque is a Protestant. He is married to Mylah Reyes, a former tv reporter. They have two children.

Harry received his Bachelor of Arts from Michigan at Ann Arbor in 1986, Bachelor of Laws from UP-Diliman in 1990, and Master of Laws with merits from London School of Economics (1996).

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Harry Roque began his legal career in the early 1990s. He handles high-profile human rights cases and constitutional challenges to executive orders and laws limiting free speech, public assembly, and free press.

He authored 234 bills and 35 of them were passed into law including the ‘Universal Health Care Act.’ In 2017, he accepted the appointment to become Duterte’s spokesperson and concurrent adviser on human rights.

Harry resigned as spokesman to make a bid for the Senate in 2019 but later withdrew due to health reasons. He was then re-appointed by Digong and served from 2020 to 2021. He also acted as spokesperson for the pandemic task force.
