Young Boy Passes Away After Hit by Train in Manila, No One Claims His Remains
A young boy has passed away after hit by a train in Manila but no one claimed his remains at the funeral a week after the incident.
The incident happened at the rails of the Philippine National Railways (PNR) along Antipolo and Ipil Streets in Sta. Cruz, Manila. The kid’s remains have been recovered underneath the train.
The boy has been identified as alias “Ahmad” with age ranging from nine to twelve years old. The kid’s playmate named “Ding” said that he was playing with the victim along rail when the incident.
Ding warned Ahmad regarding the danger of playing near the rail and even told him to stop running but the victim did not hear him. The kid died after failing to notice the approaching train.
“Niyaya po kami ng pinsan ko po na magbatuhan. Tapos tumigil na po kami dahil may dumaan na tren. Sinigawan ko po siya – Ahmad nandiyan na ang tren. Tapos pag-andar ng tren wala na siya, nasagasaan na siya,” Ding said.
The victim’s body remains at Funeraria Cruz but no one claimed his remains. Ahmad reportedly ran away from home.
Meanwhile, the vehicular and traffic investigation section was able to learn the train’s body number. The authorities have already identified the machinist or the train operator.
“Kumukuha kami ng advise ngayon sa legal office ng MPD (Manila Police District) kung ano pwedeng legal ways para makapag-file tayo ng kaso regarding du’n sa nangyari sa bata,” officer in charge of motor vehicle inspection system Police Lieutenant Tom Jay Fallar said.
