Comelec To Give Workers 1-Month Bonus, Other Allowances
COMELEC – The Commission on Elections approved the 1-month bonus and other allowances for their regular employees ahead of May 2022 Election.
The Commission on Elections is currently busy preparing for Elections 2022 which is set to take place in less than two (2) months. Both local and national elections will be held in May 9. Currently, the candidates are coping with hectic schedules campaigning.
Most candidates are in the pursuit to reach as many areas as they can and be able to campaign to as many voters as they can before the campaign period is over. Both local and national election campaign periods are ongoing.
The printing of the ballots for May 2022 Election has started. Previously, the poll body revealed that they are already examining the printed ballots to remove the defective ones.
Many Comelec employees now are doing fieldwork. Some of them are spending a lot of time in the field and less in the office. Amid the busy time for the workers, based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the poll body approved the giving of a 1-month bonus and other allowances for the employees.
According to the report, Comelec chairperson Saidamen Pangarungan confirmed that they have approved the Employee Development Assistance which mandates the giving of a 1-month bonus for all the regular employees of the Commission.
Furthermore, the poll body also approved the augmentation of the transportation and communication expenses of the Election Officers for six (6) months. Pangarungan stressed that the approval came to assist the officers amid the fuel increases in the country.
Aside from the approval of the 1-month bonus, the Commission also approved the suspension of the biometrics or the automated attendance system. The poll body wants employees to work in the field without worrying about the need to go to the office for their attendance. The bonus is expected to be released this month.
