Every year, Forbes releases a list of the wealthiest people in a certain country and the net worth of these rich multi-billionaires or multi-millionaires. It also indicates the source of wealth of these people.
With regards to the 10 richest billionaires in the Philippines, the 2021 list has most people coming from the business field. There are spots that were occupied by several persons belonging to one family and they lead a family business.

10. Ty Siblings – $2.2 B
Metrobank founder George Ty’s children Arthur, Alfred, Alesandra, and Anjanette’s collective net worth lands on the 10th spot on the list. They have stakes in GT Capital and Metropolitan Trust Bank.
9. Ramon Ang – $2.3 B
The president and vice chairman of San Miguel, Ramon Ang, is also a stockholder in Eagle Cement. Most of his riches are from his power and infrastructure businesses.
8. Andrew Tan – $2.6 B
Tan is the chairman of Alliance Global, a firm with interests in food and beverage. His son, Kevin, is the chief executive of the company and Megaworld’s strategy head.
7. Tony Tan Caktiong – $2.7 B
Tony Tan Caktiong is one of the billionaires in the Philippines whose main source of wealth is a food business. He is the founder and chairman of Jollibee Food which includes chains of the most popular fast-food restaurants in the country.
6. Dennis Anthony and Maria Grace Uy – $2.8 B
The couple is the founder of Converge ICT Solutions which is one of the high-speed internet operators in the country. They have the majority of the stake in the firm.
5. Jaime Zobel de Ayala – $3.3 B
He is the former chairman of Ayala Group and was succeeded by his son, Jaime II, in 2006. His 7 children now control more than 1/3 of the conglomerate.

Lance, Robina, Lisa, Faith, Hope, and Marcia Gokongwei inherited their wealth from the late business giant John Gokongwei Jr. They have stakes in JG Summit which has interests in telecom, food, banking, airlines, and property.

The man behind the International Container Terminal Services (ICTSI) which is the leading ports operator in the Philippines is the 3rd richest billionaire in the country. He also has a hospitality firm – the Bloomberry Resorts.
2. Manuel Villar – $6.7 B
According to Forbes, most of the richest of former Sen. Manny Villar is from his real estate business. He is currently the chairman of the property developer Vista Land and Lifescapes.
1. Sy Siblings – $16.6 B
The children of the late business tycoon Henry Sy Sr. – Teresita, Elizabeth, Henry Jr., Hans, Herbert, and Harley are all holding key positions in the businesses built by their father. They have huge stake in SM investments and SM Prime.
