Eastern Samar Governor, Mayors Sign Agreement To Back Vice Pres. Leni Robredo’s Candidacy

Eastern Samar Governor Ben Evardone and several mayors pledged their support for Vice Pres. Leni Robredo‘s presidential bid.

The candidates for the upcoming May 2022 Election are currently busy visiting different cities and provinces in the Philippines to campaign. It is more than a month now since the campaign period started and they are in the pursuit to reach as many Filipinos as they can before the campaign period is over.

Amid the campaign period, grand campaign rallies are happening. There are also motorcades and caravans that gathered the people in the streets. The campaign sorties of several candidates gathered thousands of their supporters and those who wish to hear their platforms.

Political groups, government officials, and public and private individuals are also becoming vocal about their support. Recently, Eastern Samar Governor Ben Evardone and several municipality mayors pledged their support to Vice Pres. Leni Robredo‘s presidential bid.

Vice Pres. Robredo is one of the 10 candidates for president in the upcoming election. She is the only female candidate and she is running as an independent bet in the upcoming poll.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the government officials of Eastern Samar signed an agreement to support Vice Pres. Robredo in the upcoming election. The covenant also entails the commitment of the Vice President to support the development of the province if she wins president in the upcoming election.

Vice Pres. Leni Robredo has been launching projects in the province even before she has decided to run for the presidency. She is one of those who visited the province for relief operations after Typhoon Yolanda left it devastated. Eastern Samar Governor Ben Evardone stressed that they commit their wholehearted support to the Vice President and their confidence that she won’t forget their province.

“Alam namin na hindi n’yo kami kakalimutan, kasi wala pa man kayo sa pinakamataas na posisyon, natatanaw n’yo na ang Eastern Samar,” Evardone expressed.
