People watching the 94th Oscars were shocked after Will Smith stormed up the stage and did this to Chris Rock.
WILL SMITH – After the incident of Will Smith and Chris Rock on stage, the organizers of the event issued a statement about it.
Jada Pinkett Smith has opened up about her condition called Alopecia Areata last 2018. This autoimmune disease causes hair loss and dealing with it at first terrified the actress. Finding a handful of hair while showering made her decide to shave off. She debuted her shaved hairstyle in July 2021.
And during the 94th Academy Awards, comedian Chris Rock received a slap from Jada’s husband, Will Smith, for apparently making fun of her shaved head. He received a hand from the Hollywood superstar for cracking that joke in front of many people and while on live. In a previous article, referencing her film “G.I. Jane”, he expressed he’s looking forward to a sequel.
In the said movie, the actress has a shaved head and because of that, he received a smack. Will angrily shouted at Chris while on his chair, “Keep my wife’s name out of your f—–ng mouth!”
Later on, in the same event, when Will received an award for winning, he expressed his apologies to all of his fellow nominees. He said, “This is a beautiful moment and I’m not crying for winning an award, it’s not about winning an award for me.”
The organizer of the event, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, issued a statement following the issue reiterating their non-condoning stand of anything about violence.
The statement said:
“The Academy does not condone violence of any form. Tonight we are delighted to celebrate our 94th Academy Awards winners, who deserve this moment of recognition from their peers and movie lovers around the world.”
