JAKE EJERCITO – Kapamilya actor Jake Ejercito fearless about airing his choice of president and this is what he said about Leni Robredo.
Emerald Avenue in Pasig turned Pink last Sunday, March 20, as the presidential aspirant and current vice president, Leni Robredo held her campaign. So far, her campaign rally in Pasig received and collected the biggest crowd. According to reports, the should-to-shoulder crowd that filled the venue reached over 137,000 “Kakampinks”.
This feat has surpassed the Kakampinks of Negros Occidental which was at over 70,000 that happened just over a week ago. The tens of thousands of people present during the Pasig campaign rally entrusted Robredo with their dreams and they see her as the country’s hope. And among those who mirror the same vision despite coming from a family with different political views from him is Kapamilya actor Jake Ejercito.
He’s vocal about supporting the presidential bid of our current vice president. And last Sunday, he was one of the many celebrities that graced the campaign rally in Pasig. He has met Robredo in person. He wore a black shirt with the words “Kulay Rosas ang Bukas” written on it. He was hesitant to go to her first but she did initiate to go to him.
He said, “Was too hesitant to hug her to thank her for running and to somehow give her more courage to fight on, but she surprisingly gave it first and I felt so much hope and reassurance in return.”
According to the actor, this is his first time to attend a campaign rally for someone who is not his family. The actor has come from an influential family of politicians. His father is former President Joseph Estrada.
He added, “But it ain’t about colors for me; it’s about being Filipino. No hero-worship here, but candidates who are as genuine, as qualified, and as capable as her don’t come around too often. Let’s not waste this rare opportunity to let someone like her lead.”
