Details about the Comelec Presidential Debate 2022 – the Rules & Security
COMELEC PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE 2022 – Here are some of the rules that will be observed during the Pilipinas Debates 2022 led by the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
There are only around 51 days before the election campaign period is over. Grand rallies are taking place left and right as the candidates are on a double-time to reach as many Filipinos as they can. Several campaign rallies have gathered thousands of people.
Aside from the campaign rallies, another event that many Filipino voters await during the election is the debate of the presidential candidates. For the upcoming poll, there are 10 candidates who are running for the presidency.
However, only nine (9) presidential bets have confirmed their attendance at the Comelec Presidential Debate 2022 “Pilipinas Debates 2022”. Partido Federal ng Pilipinas standard-bearer and former Sen. Bongbong Marcos will not attend the event.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the upcoming Comelec Presidential Debate 2022 which will kick off today, March 19, will be held in Pasay City. There will be 30 police and traffic personnel that are expected to be deployed at the venue at Sofitel Hotel Tent for security and traffic monitoring.
According to the report, the number of people who can enter the venue is limited and every presidential candidate is only allowed to have with them five (5) staff as part of the audience. Ten (10) lecterns will be prepared onstage despite Marcos Jr.’s confirmed non-attendance to the event. The poll body previously said that he can still attend the event should he change his mind.
During the Comelec Presidential Debate 2022, the candidates for president will draw lots to determine who among them will be the first speaker. The succeeding speakers will be on an alphabetical basis. Notes will not be allowed on stage and the poll body will hold a media walkthrough at 2:00 p.m.
