Still no debates for Sara Duterte
Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte asserted that she will continue campaigning without joining vice-presidential debates.
The Commission on Election (Comelec) organized presidential and vice-presidential debates this coming March 19 and 20, respectively. Another presidential debate will be held on April 3.
Previously, the camp of the Davao City Mayor has already expressed that she will not attend the vice-presidential debate. In an interview, she said that she has a personal reason why she is not joining any debates. However, the presidential daughter said that she can’t divulge the reason to the public.
Just recently, Mayor Sara Duterte was once again asked about the upcoming debates organized by the poll body. Based on the report from GMA News, she asserted that she will not be joining debates.
“I’ve already decided that we will do this campaign without joining debates,” she said. The vice-presidential aspirant also said that she will just let the people decide.
“Iiwan ko na po yan sa lahat ng ating mga kababayan ang pagdedesisyon sa pagpili nila sa VP na ganito po yung direksyon sa kampanya,” the running mate of former Senator Bongbong Marcos said.
When asked if her decision will not change anymore, Mayor Sara said that she will let the people know if she will decide otherwise. However, she stressed that as of this moment, her decision is to conduct her campaign without joining events,” the Mayor said and thanked the members of the press.
Mayor Sara Duterte’s running mate Bongbong Marcos has also declined other presidential debates and forums. For the Comelec debates, the camp of the former presidential son also expressed that he is not sure yet whether he will join the debate or not.
