“Paihi Gang” Arrested for Stealing Gasoline from Delivery Tankers in Lucena City
Police authorities arrested the alleged “paihi gang” who were stealing gasoline from delivery tankers in Lucena City.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) recently apprehended three individuals suspected of belonging to the “paihi gang” and possessing illegal guns. The three were apprehended by PNP agents in Lucena City during an entrapment operation.

The suspects were identified as Christopher Pena, 38, Ian Toezel Custodio, 28, both of Pagbilao, and Randy Marcelino, 42, of Lucena City, according to the report. The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, Lucena Police, and the 405th Regional Mobile Force Battalion were all involved in the entrapment operation.
Purok Bagong Buhay, Barangay Ibabang Talim, Lucena City was the scene of the operation. The suspects were found with a.45 caliber handgun, a 9mm, a shotgun, ammo, smartphones, money, an electric pump, and drums reportedly used in the ‘paihi’ operation.
According to the article, the illegal selling of gasoline stolen from delivery tankers is known as ‘Paihi.’ The three suspects will be charged with breaching Presidential Decree No. 1865, illicit petroleum product dealing, and the Commission on Elections’ weapons restriction (Comelec).
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, the total number of people detained for violating the nationwide gun prohibition in connection with the upcoming national elections reached 1,695. According to the latest PNP statistics, 1,631 citizens, 15 police officers, nine military members, 26 security officers, and 14 other uncategorized offenders were detained.
