John Lloyd Cruz talked about his stint in the Kapuso network
A-list actor John Lloyd Cruz clarified that he has no exclusive contract with GMA-7 even though he has a Kapuso sitcom now.
John Lloyd has been under ABS-CBN’s Star Magic for two decades. After his showbiz break, he became a talent of Crown Artist Management, the talent management firm established by actress-dancer Maja Salvador and her boyfriend Rambo Nunez.
Returning to doing TV projects, Lloydie was given a sitcom, Happy ToGetHer that is airing every Sunday night on GMA-7. In his show, he also reunited with other stars who previously had shows in the Kapamilya network such as Janus del Prado, Miles Ocampo, and Jayson Gainza. The sitcom has received a warm welcome from the viewers of the Kapuso network. It received high ratings from the first episode until the most recent one.
However, based on the article in The Philippine Star, John Lloyd Cruz clarified that there was no contract between him and the Kapuso network.
“Actually po sa totoo lang, technically, ako po ay under Crown Artist Management. Sila ang management ko, independent of any network. Tapos, meron akong show with GMA na line-produced by Bobot Mortiz,” the A-list actor.
He added that his agreement is between himself and Direk Bobot. “Wala akong kontrata with GMA,” Lloydie said. Aside from his current sitcom, the actor is set to do another project with the Kapuso network.
“We have a show po in the Kapuso network. Somehow ‘di ba, it makes me a Kapuso kasi dun nahanap ng show na iyun ‘yung tahanan niya. So, mahirap naman po di ba?” he said. John Lloyd Cruz added that technically speaking, he has no contract with GMA and it so happened that he has a show in the Kapuso network.
