Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Speaks on Plans If He Wins President

MAYOR ISKO MORENO – The Manila Mayor and presidential candidate vowed to protect the welfare of Filipino farmers if he wins president.

One of the 10 presidential candidates in the upcoming May 2022 Election is Manila Mayor Isko Moreno. He is the standard-bearer of Partido Aksyon Demokratiko in the upcoming poll and is ranking 2nd and 3rd in recent surveys conducted by the different organizations.

It is not the first time Mayor Isko runs for a national post. In 2016, he took the senatorial race but he was not elected. During the 2019 Midterm Elections, he defeated former President and Manila Mayor Joseph “Erap” Estrada in the mayoralty race in Manila.

Currently, Mayor Isko is busy campaigning and reaching as many Filipinos as he can before the campaign period is over. He is willing to campaign even in the bailiwicks of his fellow presidential candidates saying as long as there are Filipinos in an area, he will go there.

Mayor Isko is vocal that he wants to continue the “Build Build Build” project of the current administration. He also wants to lower the price of electricity and fuel in the Philippines. He is vocal about his desire to uplift the lives of the poor Filipinos.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Mayor Isko Moreno vowed to protect the welfare of the Filipino farmers if he wins president in May 2022. Concluding his visit to the Cagayan Valley region, the Manila Mayor said that he would charge the smugglers of garlic, rice, vegetables, and onion.

According to Mayor Isko, the smuggled products are the reasons why the Filipino farmers cannot sell their products at a “good price”. He promised. if he wins president, to buy rice and vegetables from the local farmers to aid them.

Furthermore, the Manila Mayor is calling for the review of the Rice Tarrification Law that allowed a huge importation of rice from abroad. He also vowed to decrease the prices of fertilizers.
