Ogie Diaz Clarifies Claims That Support to Leni Robredo is Being Paid

Talent manager Ogie Diaz clarified the rumors that he was allegedly paid in exchange for his support to presidential aspirant Leni Robredo.

At a campaign gathering for Robredo in Iloilo, Ogie explained accusations that he was paid to promote Robredo’s candidacy. According to Ogie, no one was forced to attend the event.

He further claimed that Robredo’s campaign did not pay him to attend the event and rather fed them. Aside from that, the candidate gave him a t-shirt and a baller.

“Kaya nandito ho kami ngayon, wala ho kaming bayad. Pinakain lang kami, Binigyan lang kami ng ganito (baller) ng t-shirt at siyempre, yung kasiyahan at kaligayahan ng puso namin na mapaglingkuran, at mapakita kay VP Leni Robredo na kaisa niya kami sa lahat ng kanyang naisin,” said Ogie.

“Nakakatuwa! Alam mo dito sa Iloilo City hindi bawal ang drone. ‘Di ba? May drone tayo diyan. Hindi bawal ang drone. Dahil kahit saan pumunta ang drone, Diyos ko po. Hindi mahulugang karayom ang mga tao. Ganito kainit ang pagtanggap ng Iloilo kay Presidente Leni Robredo. Nakakaloka!”  he added.

Others internet users couldn’t help but condemn Ogie, and some even threatened to boycott his vlog. However, Ogie claims that if netizens ignore him, he would be OK.

“I-boycott daw ang YouTube channel at FB ko, dahil #kakampink daw ako. Gow! Hahaha! Gusto ko, happy kayo!” said Ogie.

The talent manager has been outspoken about his political beliefs and is not hesitant to express them on social media. Ogie is one of a number of celebrities that have already endorsed VP Leni’s presidential campaign.
