Junk Collector Dies After Victimized by Hit-and-Run Incident
HIT-AND-RUN INCIDENT – A junk collector passed away after he was victimized by hit-and-run incident in Quezon City.
Nowadays, road accident is frequently happening not only in the Philippines but also in different countries all around the world. Drivers and motorists have been advised to take precautionary measures when driving along the road.
On Tuesday evening (February 8, 2022), the 41-year-odl victim identified as Rodolfo Fontillas is crossing along Kamuning Road when he was struck by a reckless motorist. The suspect immediately run away after the incident.
A concerned motorcycle rider attempted to chase the car driver but he failed to do so after the traffic light turns red. The suspect successfully escaped and headed along Kamias Road.
“Harurot talaga siya, wala na harurot talaga concern lang ako kasi naawa din ako at saka sinabihan ako na tulong na lang na hubulin din para mapahinto e, kaso wala, parang iniisip ko diretso diretso na siya e,” the rider said.
According to the victim’s sibling named Roma, Rodolfo went out to collect junks after eating dinner. After 30 minutes, barangay officials went to their house and reported the incident to the family.
The rider also failed to memorize the vehicle’s plate number but a glass debris from the car was left. The debris contains the RFID sticker of the suspect, which will be used by cops to identify the culprit.
The victim’s relatives were also calling the suspect’s attention and urged him to surrender to the authorities and face the consequences of its action. “Makunsiyensa ka naman. Tao ang nasagasaan mo, hindi hayop,” Roma said.
