Concepción is a crime family drama in the works. This is one of the expansions of ABS-CBN to its international partnerships. The Kapamilya network is collaborating with Filipino-American actor Reggie Lee of “All Rise” and Filipino-American film producer Jeremiah Abraham. The series will center on the criminal empire of Paulo “Pepe” Concepción, aka “Lolo Pepe”.
This criminal empire works through extortion, gambling, racketeering, and street sales of Filipino meth. Ruel S. Bayani, head of ABS-CBN International Production and Co-Production, said based on a report from ABS-CBN, “It represents the highest quality of Filipino content made for a global audience and we hope to find a distribution partner to help bring this story to life.”
And the recent IG post of Megastar Sharon Cuneta has sparked allegations about her joining this series. In her post, she expressed amusement over the title of the series and its similarity to her former husband’s last name.
As much as many people are aware, she was married to Gabby Concepcion but their marriage did not survive. They got separated shortly after having their first and only child together.
“Sige magtawa kayo sa title!” she wrote, with a laughing emoji. “Eh wala ganon talaga eh. Trabaho lang walang personalan! Just please read the article. Just might be my surprise #1 for all of you! This is Hollywood y’all!”
They have one daughter together: actress KC Concepcion. And if the speculations are true, her role in the series is yet to be announced.
