Singer Lionel Richie Won’t Push Through European Tour Concerts this Summer

LIONEL RICHIE – The popular international singer announced that he is cancelling his European tour concerts supposedly set this summer.

The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly affected several nations across the globe. It has stopped even the busiest schedules of some individuals which include celebrities in the different fields. It also caused the shutting down of several businesses after incurring only losses for months.

Currently, countries are in the pursuit to achieve herd immunity through the vaccination against COVID-19. Several brands including Pfizer, Sinovac, Sinopharm, Astra Zeneca, Sputnik V, Sputnik Lite, and Janssen were developed by the different nations and entities.

The fight against the COVID-19 pandemic is ongoing for more than two (2) years now. Unfortunately, there were several instances when cases would drop and would rise again.

Currently, several nations have yet to return to the pre-pandemic situations. There is a “new normal” environment and rules for most nations now. Several entertainment activities are on hold now.

A lot of people now are excited over the upcoming concerts of international singer Lionel Richie but it will be on hold now due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the singer said that he is cancelling his European tour concerts this summer as he is concerned about the safety of his fans, band, and crew.

Lionel Richie asks for understanding as he hopes that the concerts would take place when everyone can gather safely. One of the concerts that will not be pushed through this summer will supposedly be held at the Isle of Wight Festival in Britain in June.

Beginning 2022, several nations faced a spike in their COVID-19 cases due to the Omicron variant. The said variant which was reported to be “heavily mutated” was first recorded in South Africa and scattered fast across the globe.
