PNP Probes Online Death Threat Against Bongbong Marcos
The Philippine National Police (PNP) is now conducting an investigation against the alleged online death threat for Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
A social media user is being investigated by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) for making an objectionable statement. The remark was purportedly made with the intent of assassinating presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos.
Meanwhile, the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) cybercrime division has revealed a group’s claimed scheme to eliminate the now-leading presidential candidate in polls. According to the officer-in-charge of the DOJ’s cybercrime section, Atty. Charito Zamora is already working with Tiktok, the social media network where the alleged conspiracy to assassinate Marcos originated.

Zamora stated that they are in contact with TikTok’s TikTok Law Enforcement Outreach to learn more about user @ljluna7, who reportedly stated that they have a plot to take down BBM. According to his profile, the TikTok user is a fan of BBM presidential candidate Leni Robredo.
“As a matter of procedure, we immediately proceed in having it investigated because of the seriousness of the subject. It’s really an actionable intelligence concern,” said Zamora.
@PinkieLeafy, a netizen, purportedly grabbed a screenshot of @ljluna7’s threat. If the user is an alleged legitimate “Kakampink,” @PinkieLeafy told him to cease making threats since he is smearing his candidate’s image.
“May person (@ljluna7) na Leni supporter sa Tiktok na nag babanta kay BBM. Kung legit kang kakampink tigil mo yan. Nakakasira ka ng image ng kakampink. Baka pakawala ka lang nila.” said @pinkieleafy in her tweet.
In one of the videos on Tiktok, the suspect can be seen indicating that they had already had a “meeting” to arrange for the takedown of BBM. He explained, “Nagmeeting kami araw araw para paghandaang ipa-assinate namin si BBM humanda kayo.”
Pinkie also obtained a screencap of @ljluna7’s personal profile, which included a portrait of Vice President Leni Robredo. The suspect’s profile has yet to be discovered. Meanwhile, Marcos’ camp issued a statement declaring that they will not be intimidated by their opponents’ threats.
“While the report on the assassination plot is concerning, we are not cowered by such threat. Bongbong shall continue to personally deliver his message around the country with firm resolve to unify the nation,” said Atty. Vic Rodriguez, spokesman for BBM.
“We commend the cybercrime office of the Justice Department, through Sec. Menardo Guevarra, for its swift and uncompromising response to uncover those behind this open threat to harm aspiring president Bongbong Marcos,” he added.
