Elderly Vendor Airs Sentiments After Victimized by Scammers “Pagod na ako tapos nanakawan niyo pa ako”
An elderly vendor has expressed his frustration after scammed by heartless customers for a couple of times.
Despite the old age and poor health condition, an elderly vendor is roaming around Project 8 in Quezon City selling eggs using his bicycle. The old man finds it difficult to travel in elevated places because of his fragile body.
A concern netizen filmed the elderly man roaming around the area to sell his egg products. He approached the 70-year-old grandpa and learned that the vendor has been scammed by a heartless customer.
The netizen and the kind-hearted residents in the area purchase all the egg trays and gave him an extra amount of cash. The elderly man has been identified as Romeo Pagpulaan, a resident of Novaliches.
The old man revealed that it was not the first time he was scammed. A few days ago, a scammer who pretended as customer took some tray of eggs and run away without paying for it. “Pagod na ako tapos nanakawan niyo pa ako,” the grandpa said.
In December 2021, Lolo Romeo lost the P10, 000 to a holdupper. He just borrowed the amount to maintain his small business. The vendor has no family and he treats his fellow vendors as family.
Lolo Romeo is living alone at a space for rent and he needs to work just to earn money for his food and daily necessities. His neighbors were also helping him especially when he gets sick. Despite all the hardships, the old vendor choose to work.
“Kahit na hirap na hirap na ako ngayon sugod lang ng sugod hangga’t buhay pa ako malakas pa ako,” the vendor said.
