Arnold Clavio Says Face Shield is the Symbol of Government’s Corruption

Veteran journalist Arnold Clavio claimed that the face shield is the face and the symbol of the country’s government corruption.

Arnold Clavio, a news anchor for GMA Kapuso, spoke out against the government’s usage of the face shield against Filipinos. Despite the fact that it adds to the defense against coronavirus sickness (COVID-1), Arnold claims it is government corruption.

The television anchor’s complaints came in response to a remark by Commission on Elections (Comelec) spokesperson Director James Jimenez, who stated that voters will be required to wear a face cover when voting in the election of 2022. Clavio was one of the victims of COVID-19, and he was able to return to work after roughly two weeks.

According to his Instagram post titled ‘TILAMSIK NI IGAN’ on January 27, the face shield is a face and symbol of corruption under President Rodrigo Duterte’s administration. Edward Snowden, an American author, former Intelligence Community official, and whistleblower, opened his IG post with a statement.

“There can be no faith in government if our highest offices are excused from scrutiny – they should be setting the example of transparency.” – Edward Snowden.”

“Natuwa ako sa huling pahayag ng tagapagsalita ng Commission on Election, na si Director James Jimenez, na kailangang magsuot ng face shield ang mga boboto sa darating Eleksyon 2022. Ito ay dagdag proteksyon para sa mga botante at para na rin sa ating mga guro na uupo bilang Board of Election Officer,” Clavio said.

Clavio, on the other hand, pointed out that this serves as an excellent reminder to voters of how persons close to President Duterte are profiting off Filipinos’ suffering during the pandemic. “Ang ‘face shield’ ay mukha at simbolo ng korapsyon sa ilalim ng Duterte Administration at sa kanilang covid response,” he stressed.

According to him, the question that has remained unanswered for him is why the Procurement Service of the Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM) has entrusted Pharmally Pharmaceuticals Corp. with more than 8 billion pesos in medical goods. He also stated that he will not be surprised if corporation leaders laugh at senators.

“Hindi ako magtataka na hanggang ngayon ay pinagtatawanan pa rin nina Michael Yang at Atty. Christopher Lao ang mga Senador, ang mamayang Pilipino o maging si Mayor,” he said.

Igan has a call to voters in the upcoming election. He also reminded at the end of his post, “No Personal.” Meanwhile, the comment section of his IG post was turned off.

“Kaya sa darating na Mayo ngayong taon, HUWAG KALIMUTAN NA MAGSUOT NG FACE SHIELD at HUWAG NA HUWAG KALIMUTAN KUNG PAPAANO TAYO NA-BUDOL NG MGA MALAPIT KAY PANGULONG DUTERTE NG 8 BILYONG PISO,” he reminded.
