This is the “major major mistake” Venus Raj has done in her life.

VENUS RAJ – Miss Universe 2010 4th runner-up Venus Raj opens up about her “major major mistake” and her insightful realizations.

“What is one mistake that you’ve made in your life?”

This is the iconic question that was asked of Venus Raj during the Miss Universe 2010 pageant. And her iconic answer is there’s no “major major” mistake yet in her 22 years. And since then, the “major major” phrase became a viral and trending expression.

And now, over 10 years since that happened, now that she’s older and wiser, she has come up to a realization that brought to her thoughts the “major major” mistake she’s done. And one is when she had her first relationship. During her interview with Toni Gonzaga in Toni Talks, she opened up about her having a relationship with a 28-year-old man while she was just 16 years old.

“I think the thought that relationships would be the ultimate when it comes to having relationships with a man and compromising my purity because that’s something na parang hindi ko na mababalikan iyon, e,” she said straightly. She admitted that at that moment, being young and immature, she thought that it was the best she could give to someone.

Venus was introduced to a lot of things in her first relationship including “that” part and what she thinks before was it’s normal and how it’s done being in a relationship. However, it did not last long. It ended after almost two years because he got another woman pregnant.

She’s not aware yet of sorts like a toxic relationship because, at that time, she’s unknowingly looking for a companion that can actually fill a void in her. She did not know it then but now, she knows better and now considers it as her “major major mistake” as she cannot do anything to bring it back.

“Wala pa akong kaalam-alam sa buhay noon, para akong sunod lang kung anong sabihin, masabi lang na you are in a relationship,” she said.

And having been through a lot, she learned, “I think now, it would be honoring and respecting the person that I am in a relationship with.”
