This is the reason why Bongbong Marcos declined the invitation from GMA
The camp of presidential aspirant Bongbong Marcos released a statement on his refusal to join GMA News’ Presidential Interviews hosted by seasoned journalist Jessica Soho.
BBM received negative reactions when reports surfaced that he turned down the invitation from the Kapuso network to conduct an interview with him. Other presidential aspirants – Vice President Leni Robredo, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, Senators Manny Pacquiao and Ping Lacson – accepted the invitation.
The interviews will show the public how the presidential aspirants would answer certain issues that the country is facing nowadays, as well as past issues.
In a recently published statement, Atty. Vic Rodriguez, the spokesperson of Bongbong Marcos, stated the reason of the former Senator for not accepting the invitation from the GMA network.
The lawyer said that the decision of BBM came from his belief that Jessica Soho is “biased against the Marcoses”. “Therefore, we believe her questions will just focus on negativity about BBM,” the lawyer added.
In the statement, the spokesperson of the presidential aspirant also said that the ability of Marcos to lead the country and address the issues cannot be tested by a “mere appearance on a show,” that for them showed preconceived judgment against the Marcoses.
Rodriguez also stressed that the duty of Marcos is “to the Filipino people and not to a particular TV show or program host.” The lawyer added that BBM will continue to communicate directly to the people through “unfiltered and unhindered by any biases” platforms.
Meanwhile, it can be seen in the teaser video about the presidential interview that King of Talk Boy Abunda will have, that Bongbong Marcos is among the five presidential candidates who will be interviewed.
