Bongbong Marcos refused to be in GMA News’ Presidential Interviews
Former Senator Bongbong Marcos declined the invitation of GMA News to be part of the Presidential Interviews hosted by seasoned journalist Jessica Soho.
It has been a tradition of different news outlets to conduct interviews featuring presidential aspirants and other politicians during election season. The Kapuso network will also have its interview featuring the candidates for presidents in the 2022 elections set to be aired on January 22, 2022, at 6:15 PM.
GMA invited five of the leading presidential aspirants, however, one of them declined. Based on the report from The Philippine Star, Bongbong Marcos refused to join GMA News’ Presidential Interviews. On the other hand, Vice President Leni Robredo, senators Manny Pacquiao, and Panfilo Lacson, and Manila Mayor Isko Moreno said “yes” to this challenge.
Reportedly, the presidential aspirants who accepted the challenge will go through a series of hard questions about the current national issues and the controversial topics in the past.
Because of the refusal of BBM to join the presidential interviews, he received attacks from his critics. Many netizens used the hashtag “Marcos Duwag” while there were those who said that the presidential aspirant might not want to be in the same situation with Jessica Soho just like what happened in a past interview.
There were also those who said that they are anticipating that the camp of Marcos will release another “sick leave” when the interview comes. To recall, the former Senator received criticism when he did not attend the Comelec conference for the disqualification case against him. His camp released a statement saying that he was in isolation because he had close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19.
