2 Chinese Nationals Nabbed in Parañaque Over Robbery Extortion

Police authorities arrested two (2) Chinese Nationals after being accused of robbery extortion against their fellow Chinese in Parañaque City.

The two Chinese were apprehended by police in Paraaque City on January 18 after they reportedly demanded money from one of their countrymen who worked for them. Caimu Chen, 41, and Qiao Zhuhua, 25, are the suspects, according to Southern Police District (SPD) Chief Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg.

According to the police report, the two suspects were apprehended by members of the Paraaque City Police Intelligence Section inside their parked car on Ninoy Aquino Avenue, Barangay San Dionisio in the city, about 9:00 p.m. Li Menghai, the victim, had previously contacted Chen and Zhuhua to obtain his personal items, including his Chinese passport and visa.

However, the two suspects demanded P1,000,000 in return for the victim’s passport and visa, prompting him to call the cops, who set up an entrapment operation. Authorities said the two suspects are charged with robbery and extortion.

Meanwhile, in an entrapment operation for the release of their kidnap victim, Paranaque City police apprehended five Chinese nationals and their Filipino accomplice. They are being held at the Paranaque City detention center on charges of abduction and illicit narcotics possession.

The suspects were apprehended in front of a motel in Barangay Tambo, Paranaque City, according to the investigation. The victim, a businessman, was allegedly kidnapped by the accused in front of Monarch Park Suites, according to police.
