Several Schools Declare Class Suspensions for January 10 (Monday)
WALANG PASOK – Several schools have declared class suspensions as a precautionary measure amid surging COVID-19 cases.
Some schools and universities have declared the cancellation of classes due to the increasing cases of the coronavirus disease in the country. The class suspension has been announced to secure the safety of school employees and students.
Several schools have also postponed the face-to-face classes amid the coronavirus pandemic. Other universities have suspend the classes due to prevalence of illness among the community members.

As of Friday (January, 7, 2022), the Department of Health recorded a total of 21,819 COVID-19 cases in the Philippines. The country has 40 percent positivity rate since the start of the pandemic.
Here is the list of schools affected by the class cancellation:
- Saint Pedro Poveda College – January 10
- Xavier School San Juan at Nuvali – January 10-11
- Philippine Women’s University – January 10-12
- Marist School – January 10-14
- De La Salle University (All Levels) – January 10-15
• De La Salle – College of Saint Benilde (Benilde Manila, Benilde Antipolo, Benilde Deaf School, and Benilde Senior High School)
• Miriam College (grade school, high school, SDTEC and MC Nuvali)
• Chiang Kai Shek College (All Levels) - Polytechnic University of the Philippines (All Levels) – January 10-16
The University of the East announced the postponement of face-to-face classes and academic break. Philippine Science High School – Main Campus Student Council said in a letter that all synchronous classes will be suspended from January 10-14.
All classes in Far Eastern University will be held online from January 17 until February 12.
