Daniel Padilla shared why he accepted this movie project outside Star Cinema
Kapamilya actor Daniel Padilla revealed the four reasons why he accepted the Kun Maupay Man It Panahon movie project even though it is not under his home studio, Star Cinema.
Daniel received the MMFF (Metro Manila Film Festival) 2021 Jury Prize Award for his role in the said movie. Before the film about the aftermath of typhoon Yolanda was included in the MMFF 2021 official entry, it has already received recognition from international film festivals.
Based on the article in Inquirer, Daniel shared the things that pushed him to accept the project. The actor said that the first reason was that it is his first project that is based on real events.
“Second, I agree when Ma’am Charo said that, as actors, it’s important for us to feel challenged by the projects we do. We both know that we had to do this in order for us to grow,” Daniel shared.
To recall, he shared that working with the award-winning seasoned actress was first intimidating but it was also rewarding for him. The third reason that the actor cited was because of the director, Carlo Francisco Manatad.
“I admit that when he first offered this to me, I had second thoughts because I felt afraid,” he said adding that he was unsure of what working dynamic he would have with the director but certainly, he fell in love with the story immediately.
The final reason why Daniel Padilla accepted this project was because of the fact that he came from Tacloban. “So it’s hard to say ‘no’ to the movie,” he said.
Meanwhile, Daniel said that Kun Maupay Man It Panahon is an eye-opener as he stressed that calamities like Yolanda can’t be avoided and so necessarily things to prepare for this should be done.
