This is what Daniel Padilla felt doing a film with Charo Santos
Kapamilya actor Daniel Padilla shared his experience working with seasoned actress Charo Santos, who is also one of the bosses of ABS-CBN, in the movie Kun Maupay Man It Panahon.
The said movie of Daniel and Charo has already journeyed to different international film festivals. For this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival, the movie about the tragic life of people in Tacloban after typhoon Yolanda was named as one of the official entries.
In a previous interview, the actor shared that he did not expect their movie will be included in MMFF 2021 but fortunately it did and he is ecstatic that Pinoy audience will get to see it. Based on the article in The Philippine Star, Daniel Padilla was asked about his experience working with Charo Santos during a recent interview.
The actor admitted that he felt intimidated but not to the point that he was afraid. “Siyempre ‘yung presence ni Ma’am Charo. Nasanay ako na boss ko ‘yon si Ma’am Charo. Na sa Star Magic Ball ko na nakikita, kapag may kailangan aakyat ako sa kanya, alam mo ‘yon, ‘yung ganoon,” the son of Karla Estrada and Rommel Padilla explained.
On the other hand, Daniel said that despite Charo was intimidating for him, the seasoned actress was also welcoming and she made him feel at ease so that it would be easy for them to work together.
Daniel also shared one incident during their taping that he wrongly said his lines in Waray. “Nakakatakot magkamali. Ayaw mong magkamali, ka-eksena mo si Ma’am Charo. Kaya nga one time ako pa ‘yung nagkamali sa Waray-Waray ko buti na lang si Ma’am Charo ‘it’s okay.’ Alam mo ‘yon hindi naman ‘yon nagagalit,” he shared.
However, Daniel Padilla was thankful that Charo Santos was very supportive. He described the season actress as “mabait” and “sarap kasama”.
