Elderly Murder Convict On Hunt After Reportedly Escaped Samar Prison

Police authorities are now on the hunt against an elderly murder convict after he reportedly escaped the prison in Calbayog, Samar.

According to a report from the Calbayog City sub-provincial jail, a 67-year-old inmate used his acting skills to get out of prison. Julito Dacles, who is guilty of murder, was identified as the inmate by PRO-8.

According to the police report, he was complaining of breathing difficulties. As a result, he was given priority in the lobby, which was close to his cell.

However, the guards noticed he was missing a few moments later. It was also revealed that the metal gate at the back of the facility was shattered, suggesting that the convict may have attempted to flee through this area.

Authorities have already launched a pursuit operation to apprehend the detainee. In September 2020, Dacles was purportedly convicted to reclusion perpetua for murder.

In the meantime, an inmate from the Biliran Provincial Jail in Naval town has escaped. Inmate Carmelito Abia fled about 12:30 a.m., according to information from Police Regional Office 8. from the Barangay Calumpang jail

During the original PRO 8 inquiry, Abia attempted to flee by climbing the back wall of the jail. The prisoner is already being pursued by authorities. Abia, a native of Biliran’s Kawayan town, is accused of harassment.
