Ex-Soldier Arrested Along with 2 Others After Caught with Illegal Drugs
Police authorities arrested an ex-soldier and his two accomplices after illegal drugs worth P6.8 million were caught in their possession.
According to a Zamboanga police report, police officers and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents seized illegal substances from three drug suspects. A former soldier of the Philippine Army was named as one of the suspects.

According to P/Maj. Ekong y Daim, Chester Natividad, 51, is a former member of the Mofro National Liberation Front. During a buy-bust operation in Barangay Upper Calarian, the former soldier and two of his comrades were apprehended.
Darwisa Ibbo y Sahi and Toto Samson y Abdulla, two of Ekong’s coworkers, were also captured in the anti-narcotic operation. According to the police report, the accused are inhabitants of Jolo, Sulu.
Using boodle money worth P1.5 million and a real P1,000 bill in front of the boodle money, a police poseur buyer purchased shabu from the accused. The suspects were arrested after swapping money and illegal narcotics, and they could no longer escape after being encircled by police personnel.
A kilo of suspected illegal substances known as shabu was discovered wrapped in packaging tape by police. Aside from the illegal substance, officials discovered boodle money and the suspects’ personal stuff.
The arrest, according to Natividad, came after a month of monitoring on the suspects based on leads from informants. The three suspects are accused of breaking the Comprehensive Drugs Act of 2002.
