Leader of Alleged Cult in Cebu Arrested Over Harassment Against 2 Members

Police authorities arrested a leader of an alleged cult in Cebu after he was accused of harassment against his two (2) members.

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has charged a cult leader in Asturias, Cebu, with many counts of r*pe. Teodorico Feriol, also known by the aliases “Brod Doring,” “Master,” and “Tatay,” was the leader of the Higawnon Spiritual Consultation Services in Barangay San Isidro, according to the NBI.

According to the article, Feriol was supposed to be able to cure many illnesses, thus he had asked his patrons to stay in his so-called temple for several nights, which led to the assault. Agent-on-case Agapito Gierran claimed the NBI received complaints from two victims.

According to the victims, he described his alleged indecent acts as “spiritual missions.” He portrays himself as Dios Amahan (Lord of the Father), with seven virgins or brides.

Those who protested, according to Gierran, included a minor and a woman he had allegedly impregnated. Feriol’s modus operandi, according to him, was to allegedly offer drinks to those who came to him for assistance, and then threaten and exploit them when they became dizzy.

The event, according to Gierran, occurred last year but was only reported to the NBI last month. Under RA 8353, Feriol is accused with three counts of sexual harassment.

The preliminary inquiry into his case is still ongoing at the provincial prosecutor’s office. The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) advised the public to exercise caution before enrolling and believing organizations that claim to be able to cure disease.
