Police Authorities Arrest Alleged Mastermind of Multi-Million Peso Wahana Investment Scam

The police authorities have arrested the alleged mastermind of multi-million peso Wahana investment scam in Fairview, Quezon City.

The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group – National Capital Region (CIDG NCR) together with Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) launch a manhunt operation to locate and arrest the alleged mastermind.

The authorities arrested Maria Raisa Yap and her husband former Police Corporal Michael Yap who were the alleged mastermind of an investment scam. The police recovered millions of pesos from the suspects.

Wahana Investment Scam

The money recovered from the suspects came from the investmebt of police, militaries and other personnel, according to CIDG NCR regional chief Police Colonel Randy Glenn Silvio.

“Nag-conduct tayo ng manhunt operation against sa co-founder ng Wahana investment scam at luckily with the help of the AFP counterpart, na-locate natin at naaresto, sinerve natin ang warrant of arrest against Raisa Yap,” Silvio said.

Michael explained that he was just also a victim of the multi-million peso investment scam while his wife Maria Raisa denied the allegations and clarified that she is innocent. Raisa is wanted for 82 counts of estafa.

“Wala po ako talagang kasalanan. Nadamay lang ako sa asawa ko po. Doon sa Wahana daw po naglagay daw siya ng pera doon pero hindi po ako involved doon po. Malinis ang konsensiya ko. Wala akong kinalaman,” Maria Raisa said.

The cops also arrest a certain Dante Paradas, Raisa’s relative. The police authorities were still investigating the scheme while the vehicle recovered from the suspects was under verification.
