Here’s what Rabiya Mateo said about possibility of joining beauty pageant again
Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo was asked if she has a plan of joining beauty pageants again just like Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray.
Rabiya is one of those fortunate first-timer beauty queens who were able to win a national beauty pageant title. From being hailed as Miss Iloilo City, she represented her hometown in the national competition and won the crown.
After her much-talked-about international beauty pageant stint, there were those who are wondering if she will join another pageant in the future. Based on the article by entertainment columnist Dolly Anne Carvajal in Inquirer, Rabiya Mateo said that she is not totally closing her doors when it comes to beauty pageants.
“Probably not in the coming years because I really want to focus on my newfound show biz career. But I’m not closing any doors,” the Ilongga beauty said.
Speaking of her newfound career as an actress, Rabiya shared that she has undergone workshops to prepare herself. She knows that acting workshops as preparation would not be enough and so she is opening herself for opportunities to learn more.
“Since I’m going to be doing action, I don’t want to have a double. So I’m training my body and mind to do every fight scene,” the beauty queen-turned-actress added.
When asked if who she wants to be her first leading man, the new Kapuso actress said that she wants it to be multimedia star Alden Richards. Rabiya Mateo admitted that she is a fan of the Pambansang Bae. She also said that she is looking forward to having a future project with Alden.
Rabiya was also asked about the things that most people do not know about her. She shared that she knows how to rap, she loves to watch crime serials. The Ilongga beauty also revealed that she has no balance and that she does not know how to ride a bike or swim. With this, being adventurous is on her bucket list.
