BuCor Builds Road Barricade in Katarungan, Muntinlupa, Residents Demolished It
MANILA – The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) builds a concrete wall in the middle of the road along Katarungan, Muntinlupa.
Muntinlupa City Administrator Allan Cachuela was surprised after learning that BuCor builds a concrete barricade in the major road of the city. The barricade causes inconvenience to the residents and motorists.
The agency build a wall made of hollow blocks to prevent the motorists to pass along the road. The road is connecting the residents between Katarungan Village I and Katarungan Village IIÂ within the city proper.
The Muntinlupa National High School Main and Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa were also affected by the road closure.
Cachuela said BuCor did not coordinate with the Muntinlupa local government about the road closure. Cachuela together with Cong. Ruffy Biazon and Barangay Captain Allen Ampaya in the area to monitor the situation.
BuCor spokesperson Gabriel Chaclag faced the officials but refused to give a statement regarding the incident. The road closure will cause a major problem among the residents in the area. Biazon also assured that the agency will cooperate next time.
The agency explained that the wall was built for security concerns but the city officials opposed it for affecting the welfare of the residents.
Eventually, the residents demolished the wall so motorists could access the road again. It was not the first that BuCor builds a road barricade near the New Bilibid Prisons.
