The Marcos Duterte tandem has received support from the parties of three former presidents
Marcos Duterte Tandem – The political parties of former presidents Fidel V. Ramos, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, and Joseph “Erap” Estrada announced that they are supporting the tandem of Bongbong Marcos and Sara Duterte for the 2022 elections.
Before filing for substitution, the Davao City Mayor resigned from her regional party Hugpong ng Pagbabago and took oath as a member of Lakas-CMD, the party in which Ramos and Macapagal belong.
Following that, the presidential daughter announced her tandem with Bongbong Marcos who belongs to Partido Federal ng Pilipinas. Sara Duterte later became the chairman of Lakas-CMD and returned to her previous position in HNP.
Lakas-CMD adopted Marcos as a presidential candidate and Duterte was adopted by Partido Federal ng Pilipinas as vice-presidential candidate.
In a recent report from The Philippine Star, the party of FVR, GMA, and Erap, who belongs to Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino have forged their alliance with the Marcos Duterte tandem.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday afternoon, during an interview, Senator Bong Go, who is the presidential bet of the ruling PDP-Laban party, hinted about the possibility of withdrawing.
The close ally of President Duterte said that he has not fully grasped yet the idea of running for president because initially, he has conditioned himself for the position of vice president.
When the Senator was asked if he will withdraw his presidential candidacy anytime now, he said that he is still waiting for a sign before he will announce whatever decision he will have for the election next year.
Presidential and vice presidential aspirants have submitted to a voluntary drug test following the claim of the Chief Executive that there is one candidate who is doing illegal drugs.
