Senator Bong Go, the presidential candidate of PDP-Laban, released a statement amid the speculations that he might withdraw.

On the afternoon of November 24, the close ally of President Rodrigo Duterte said in an interview that he is still not grasping the fact that he filed his certificate of candidacy for president after he withdraw his vice presidential bid.

Because of that, speculations surfaced that he will eventually withdraw his candidacy and different opinions were posted online regarding this matter.

In a report from Bombo Radyo, it was said that Cagayan Governor Manuel Mamba said that the Se. Bong Go is withdrawing his candidacy for president.

On the other hand, in a recent statement that the Senator released, he did not directly announce his withdrawal. However, he also did not deny the statement that Gov. Mamba had.

Based on the Twitter post of ABS-CBN reporter Joyce Balancio, the Senator said in his statement that he still continues to “seek guidance from the Divine Being”. “In the past few days po, I realized that my heart and mind are contradicting my own actions,” he stressed.

He also said that perhaps, now is not the right time and that he is willing to sacrifice in order to avoid complications. Go added that he is looking after the welfare of the President. “Having said this, I leave my fate to God and the Filipino people as I vow to do my best every day to serve selflessly and tirelessly,” he said.

Bong Go also said that there are a lot more things that he can do to serve the Filipino people. He added that he does not mind wherever he would be as long as he can serve.
