3 Police Chiefs in General Santos Found Negligence on Duty Relieved from Post
The Philippine National Police (PNP) has relieved three (3) police chiefs in General Santos after they were accused of negligence on duty.
Three police chiefs at the General Santos City Police Office (GSCPO) were removed from their positions as station commanders during the unexpected visit of Police Brigadier General Alexander Tagum. After it was determined that there was negligence in the service, Tagum, chief of Police Regional Office XII, promptly ordered the three station commanders to be dismissed from their duties.

According to Tagum, the chiefs were absent from duty during the surprise inspection, and there were insufficient police officers on duty. Police Major Rommel Constantino of Police Station 1, Police Major Yol Hilado of Police Station 3, and Police Captain Abdulsalam Mamalinta of Police Station 4 was among those discharged, according to PRO XII.
They were reassigned to a new assignment that the authorities have not yet stated. Other station commanders, on the other hand, have been told that Tagum would continue to perform surprise inspections to verify that they are carrying out their responsibilities as leaders in their individual police stations.
Meanwhile, the chief of Police Precinct 8 in General Santos City’s Barangay Tinagacan has been fired for reportedly abusing and threatening his employees. The cop allegedly arrived at the police station early in the morning, ordered cops to form up, and then “began castigating and threatening to murder them” while holding an M-16 rifle, according to PNP Chief General Guillermo Eleazar.
The commander was said to be enraged about his men’s apparent inaction in response to a concern made by a close friend. In addition, four non-commissioned officers were assaulted.
