Dimples Romana talked about her showbiz career
Kapamilya actress Dimples Romana admitted that quitting showbiz already entered her mind but she clings to what she really loves to do.
Dimples is one of the lucky celebrities who are still busy even amid the pandemic. The health crisis has greatly affected the entertainment industry and having the opportunity to continue doing projects is a blessing.
Now that she is 37 years old, she started acting when she was 12 years old, Dimples said that there were times that quitting crossed her mind, based on the article in PUSH. However, she did not let that thought win over her.
“Sa totoo lang, gusto ko talaga sabihin na I want to step out of it pero parang totoo ata yung mga sinasabi ng mga ini-idolo kong mga artista na pag minsan ka ng naging artista, hahanap-hanapin mo talaga. Imagine, kapag sa pandemya iisipin mo, when you are given an opportunity to work with a stellar cast, I cannot begin to tell you how amazing this cast is, bakit ko naman pipigilin yung sarili ko sa ganung klase ng pribilehiyo?” she said adding that in this time, it is really difficult to find stability in work.
Dimples Romana also pointed that for artists like her, there is a deeper meaning in everything they do whether it is for a commercial, TV, or movie project. She added that since she started her career at a young age, acting has become her passion.
Nowadays, she thinks that actors have a bigger responsibility in transcending emotions to the audience. It is because she feels that at this present time, people wanted to be transported to a different world and the materials that they are presenting to the audience should do so.
As a mother, the actress said that she needs to continue working to save for the education expenses of her two kids. “Nag-ka-college si Callie, nasa Australia. Baka mahimatay ako pag hindi ako nagtrabaho (laughs). Hindi ko ata kaya. Sabi ko, ‘Ah, mag-ready muna tayo.‘ Siguro pag nag-college na si Alonzo so matagal tagal pa di ba?” Dimples Romana shared.
