Here’s how Kris Aquino reacted when her future husband defended her from her past’s intriguing Twitter posts.
KRIS AQUINO – Mel Sarmiento called out Herbert Bautista following his intriguing Twitter posts that seemingly brought his past with Kris Aquino.
In a previous article, senatorial aspirant and former Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista said “na-inspire din tuloy akong mag-propose. Kaso, sayang… may napili na po sya” in a Twitter post. This has caught a lot of attention online because although little is known about his relationship with Kris Aquino, people are also aware of how it all ended.
Kris is now happy and engaged with former secretary of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Mel Senen Sarmiento. She is grateful for him because he is not just the man who she and her sons approve of but also the man who stood up for her and defended her.
And now, following the intriguing posts of Bautista regarding her engagement and some are, as if, bringing their past, Sarmiento rose up and called him out. The former DILG secretary released a statement about the posts “which obviously referred to Kris”. According to him, such an act of displaying bits and pieces of past flames in public is “improper and ungentlemanlike”.
He added, “As a former public servant now seeking a seat in the Senate, he should know better than dragging other people to get public attention. Hindi po showbiz ang Senado. People would appreciate it more if he would talk about his credentials to woo our people’s votes.”
And in an Instagram post, Kris expressed appreciation for her fiance for confronting the Senatorial aspirant for the “loose remark”. She is thankful she has “The Better Man” beside her who consistently “stood up & fought” for her. She said, “You have never blamed me for my past, instead you have just loved me for me.”
In a post prior to the one above, Kris lambasted Herbert and referred to him as “the man Mel confronted”. She told him that if he must speak about his love life, he should speak about his present and not her past. According to her, he is now in a relationship with a “beautiful girlfriend”. She also added that in order to gain attention, he doesn’t need to use their past.
“Trust in yourself, that your track record is more than enough to get you elected and have enough faith in the wisdom of the Filipino voters,” she wrote.
