PDP-Laban Says They’ll Continue Supporting Senator Go Despite Issues With Party
PDP-LABAN CONTINUES SUPPORTING GO – According to PDP-Laban Secretary-General Attorney Melvin Matibag, they’ll continue supporting the presidential candidacy of Senator Bong Go.
Recently, Sara Duterte-Carpio, who is running for Vice President, said her father’s party, PDP-Laban declined to support her tandem with Bongbong Marcos.
But, despite the issues thrown at PDP-Laban who now has two factions, one being Senator Manny Pacquiao’s, says they will continue to support Go’s candidacy.
Earlier, there were conspiracies thrown at Senator Go saying that he was pulling President Rodrigo Duterte’s strings from behind the scenes. Retired Lt. Gen. Antonio Parlade Jr. made the claim on the day he filed his certificate of candidacy for President.
However, Go responded by saying:
Natural lamang, bilang matagal niya akong assistant ng mahigit dalawang dekada, tumutulong lang ako sa pag-implementa nang tama ng mga desisyon niya na nakakabuti sa bayan
Meanwhile, Matibag, following Sara’s statements, said they respect her decision to tandem with BBM. Still, Matibag emphasizes that PDP’s alliance with PDDS is strong.
Furthermore, Matibag stressed that the members of the party are all disciplined, spirited, and have high morals. Based on an article from GMA, Matibag said:
We have toed the line and will support the candidacy of Senator Bong Go for President and President Rodrigo Duterte for Senator
Go would be facing off against former Senator Bongbong Marcos Jr. On the other hand, President Rodrigo Duterte recently filed his COC for Senator and would run under the PDDS – Pederalismo ng Dugong Dakilang Samahan, a close ally of PDP-Laban.
